Teamfight Tactics
My designs of little legends for Riot's Teamfight Tactics (TFT). This game is one of my favourite games of all time so these designs had a lot of passion and love behind them.As an Australian designer, It's always been important to me to incorporate my country in my creative work, and this character is a representative of that passion of mine. I chose the iconic symbol of Australia, the kangaroo as my main inspiration.
The classic Australian cork hat, scarf and boomerang embodies the adventurous spirit of our Australian outback. I exaggerated the ears and implemented the iconic tail-sitting pose to create a unique and memorable silhouette, fitting the stylisation of other TFT little legends. Not only does the tail-sitting pose add visual balance, it also has dynamic potential as it allows a wide range of movement, interactions and poses for the animation in game as the tail itself is not a static feature like other tails.
One of the key iterations of this character is the ballerina design, serving a deliberate contrast to the default which has a more grounded portrayal of a real kangaroo. The connection was mainly because of the shared emphasis on the legs, with kangaroos renowned for having powerful legs, allowing for graceful leaps similarly to ballerinas. Both sharing a sense of power, grace and agility. I went for a mystical take, almost otherworldly to highlight how versatile the character can be.The other iteration is the Lee Sin-inspired design, due to his martial arts theme, i felt it was a good opportunity as Lee Sin often reminds me of a kangaroo with his unique champion kit. And since in TFT, theres also references to League of Legends characters as well, so I thought this was perfect opportunity to show love to both games.
My take on one of my favourite champions, Hwei. Features picked from both final and draft designs from Hwei's lore.
Condensing Hwei was one of the biggest challenges i've had to face as I've never worked with chibi art previously.
Chibi Cosmic Hwei - during my ideation phase, i thought Hwei would fit the style and colour palette of this skin line. The final design includes the gold ornaments and space features; milky way back piece, galaxy hair and 3 sections that contained a bright and powerful star, similarly to the existing cosmic skins in LoL.
Due to his significant lore involvement with Jhin, cosmic Hwei would bridge a connection to dark cosmic Jhin, allowing their lore to go further.
Empyrean Hwei - I wanted a skin that would play with vibrant colours hence I chose empyrean.

Time to Go Home
Time to Go Home is my collaborated capstone at University. I took on the role as the 2D Artist and the art director for our 2.5D story-based game. I designed all the existing characters, 2D assets, some of the UI, the in-game cutscenes and our physical merch!
